CostMate — Terms of Service

These terms apply to the CostMate mobile and web application ("the app"), published by Obura. By creating an account or using the app you agree to these terms.

What CostMate is

CostMate is a product-costing tool for small manufacturers: it calculates material, equipment and overhead costs from the data you enter. The results are estimates based on your own inputs — they are informational and do not constitute financial, accounting, or tax advice. Always verify important figures before relying on them commercially.

Your account and your data

You are responsible for keeping your sign-in credentials safe and for the accuracy of the data you enter. Your content belongs to you; we only store and process it to provide the service, as described in the privacy policy. You can delete your account and all its data at any time (see how).

Free plan and Pro subscription

The free plan includes core features with limits (currently one business, and caps on the number of materials and products). Limits may change over time; existing data is never deleted because of a limit change.
Pro is an optional auto-renewing subscription that removes those limits and adds extra features (for example multiple businesses and automatic energy-price updates).
Payment is charged to your app store account (Google Play or the App Store) at confirmation of purchase. The price is shown in the app before you buy.
Subscriptions renew automatically unless cancelled at least 24 hours before the end of the current period. You can cancel any time in your app store's subscription settings (Google Play → Payments & subscriptions, or App Store → Apple ID → Subscriptions); access continues until the end of the paid period.
Refunds are handled by the app store under its own refund policy.
If a subscription ends, your account returns to the free plan. Data created while on Pro is kept, but features above the free limits may become read-only or unavailable until you subscribe again.

Acceptable use

Don't attempt to break, overload, or reverse the service, access other users' data, or use the app for unlawful purposes. We may suspend accounts that abuse the service.

Availability and changes

We work to keep the app available and your data safe, but the service is provided "as is", without warranties of uninterrupted availability. We may add, change, or retire features. If we ever discontinue the service, we will give reasonable notice so you can export your data.

Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, Obura is not liable for indirect damages or for business decisions made based on the app's calculations. Nothing in these terms limits liability that cannot be limited under applicable law.

Changes to these terms

If these terms change materially, the updated version will be published at this address with a new "last updated" date; continued use of the app after that constitutes acceptance.
